For the curious traveler, the sports fan, the arts enthusiast, the Windy City has it all: museums, stadiums, architecture, and great food. Melissa Sweet is there starting tomorrow, and you can find her here and follow all of the events from the annual ALA conference here.
Do you have a favorite book set in Chicago? Or—a favorite writer, poet, or artist from Chicago? Let us know in the comments section. My favorite “Chicago” book is Erik Larson’s The Devil in the White City, a work that successfully blurs the line between fiction and non-fiction with meticulous research, and superb storytelling. Highly recommended for your summer beach reading, even if you never get to Chicago!
